Griffins Record a Couple Firsts and Reach Multiple Milestones in Heartbreaker Against Eagles

St. Davids, Pa. (3/6/2026) - Gwynedd Mercy University (0-5) had much to celebrate in today's contest, but its conclusion was bittersweet as Eastern University (1-0) scored the final tally of a tightly-played 11-10 (0:31) final. Before the game's dramatic end, senior attack Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.) recorded the 100th point of her collegiate career with her third goal of the contest (6-6, 0:59 2QTR), sophomore midfielder Elena Colliluori (Gilbertsville, Pa.) recorded the 100th draw control of her collegiate career on the ensuing restart, and Bradley recorded the 100th caused turnover of her collegiate career with a strip off the first draw control of the third quarter (15:00). Bradley finished the affair with five goals, three grounds balls, two draw controls, and her two caused turnovers. Colliluori totaled nine draw controls in all, leaving her career total at 101; she also recorded four points (1 goal, 3 assists), seven ground balls, and three caused turnovers.

  • Senior attack Brianna Godwin (Telford, Pa.) found sophomore attack Sydney Pryor (West Chester, Pa.) for the game's first goal; 1-0 (9:55 1QTR). It was also the first goal of Pryor's collegiate career.
  • Eight minutes later, freshman midfielder Samantha Whelan (Birdsboro, Pa.) scored the third Gwynedd Mercy University goal; 3-2 (1:45 1QTR), with her first collegiate tally.
  • The Griffins led the Eagles in draw controls (13-10), ground balls (40-29), and shots (32-25). They were successful on 12-of-20 (.600) clear attempts and 1-for-5 (.200) on free position attempts.
  • Junior midfielder Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.) helped Bradley and Colliluori lead the Red and Gold with three points (1 goal, 2 assists), seven ground balls, five caused turnovers, and two draw controls.
  • Freshman attack Olivia Buczacki (Lower Moreland, Pa.) accounted for the other Griffin goal (9-8, 0:40 3QTR). She also recorded four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
  • Junior Teagan O'Neill (Pennsauken, N.J.) captained the defense's effort in front of senior goalkeeper Victoria Sloan (Philadelphia, Pa.) with five ground balls and four caused turnovers.
