Griffins Begin Weekend Series With Mighty Macs

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (3/27/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (9-9, 2-2 AEC), welcomed Atlantic East Conference (AEC) foe Immaculata University (5-11, 2-2 AEC) to Frank O. Genuardi Legends Field to kickstart their three-game series. With some small ball from the Mighty Macs and some errors from the Red and Gold, the Mighty Macs took game one from the Griffins with a final score of 6-2. Gwynedd Mercy was held to just six hits in the contest, with three of them being recorded in the final three innings. Junior pitcher Michael Inglisa (Delran, N.J.) looked to bounce back after his start last Saturday. Inglisa went six innings, allowing three earned runs and two walks, while striking out six in the loss (2-2).

Griffin Highlights:

  • The loan runs for Gwynedd Mercy came in the seventh inning when senior infielder captain Jimmy DeCarlo (Ridley Park, Pa.) hit a missile down the left field line, bringing home both senior outfielder Chris Nodeland (Hamilton, N.J.), and sophomore infielder Deven Ross (Lansdale, Pa.) (3-2).
  • Gwynedd Mercy had opportunities to bring runners home but left 11 runners stranded on the basepaths.
  • In relief of Inglisa, senior pitcher Ryan Kasper (Levittown, Pa.) tossed the final three innings. Kasper did all he could to keep the red and gold in it, allowing just two hits, two earned runs, two walks, and striking out two.

Gwynedd Mercy University continues its series with Immaculata University with a doubleheader matchup on Saturday, March 28, with the first pitch scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
