Salisbury, Md. - (1/3/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University (3-8) concluded their non-conference portion of its schedule Saturday afternoon, pushing Salisbury University (10-4) for all four quarters before falling, 68-53. The Griffins showcased balanced scoring, efficient shooting stretches, and consistent defensive pressure against the ten-win Sea Gulls. Junior guard Alyssa Cresto (Newark, Del.) finished with a team-high 12 points in 25 minutes of game action. Cresto was four-of-six (67%) from beyond the arc, including a steal in the loss.  

Griffin Highlights: 

• Gwynedd Mercy came out aggressively, shooting 42.9 percent in the opening quarter and staying within striking distance early. The Griffins found their rhythm in the second quarter, erupting for 21 points on 58.3 percent shooting, including a near-perfect 4-for-5 effort from three-point range. That surge allowed Gwynedd Mercy to trim a double-digit deficit to just 42–35 at halftime. 
• Junior forward Azzy Crumpton (Conshohocken, Pa.) added nine points, four rebounds, and a pair of blocks, while junior forward Rachel Dunn (Lansdale, Pa.) provided a strong spark off the bench with ten points, four rebounds, and steady interior play. 
• The Griffins continued to battle in the third quarter, forcing turnovers and converting them into points to keep the margin manageable. Gwynedd Mercy finished with 24 points off turnovers and 11 second-chance points, capitalizing on hustle plays and defensive stops. Sophomore guard Brianna McFadden (Fairless Hills, Pa.) and senior forward Erin Eisenhart (Bethlehem, Pa.) each made timely baskets in transition, while junior guard Leah Harrington (Horsham, Pa.) led the team on the glass with seven rebounds. 
• Despite Salisbury pulling away late, Gwynedd Mercy never relented, closing the game with strong defensive sequences and continued effort on both ends. The Griffins shot 33.9 percent from the field and totaled 18 bench points, reflecting balanced contributions throughout the lineup.  

Gwynedd Mercy University begins Atlantic East Conference play on Wednesday, January 7, when the team travels to Pratt Institute for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
