Langhorne, Pa. - (9/25/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (3-5) had trouble finding their footing in this evening's 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-21) loss at Cairn University. The Griffins got more than 10 points apiece from senior middle hitter Charlotte Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa.) (11.5 points; 11 kills, 1 block assist) and junior outside hitter Kate Etter (Chambersburg, Pa.) (10; 10 kills) as well as three kills, 25 assists, two aces, and a dozen (12) digs from senior setter Ayanna Gaston (Middletown, Del.), but ended up on the short side of the final for the fourth straight match.

Griffin Highlights

• Gwynedd Mercy University was consistent as their .149 (32K-17E-101TA) hitting percentage was balanced with a .139 (12K-7E-36TA) effort in the opening set, a .179 (9K-4E-28TA) in the second set, and .135 (11K-6E-37TA) in the third set.
• The Griffins also led the Highlanders in aces (4-3) and team blocks (2-1).
• Pugh complemented her 11.5 points with an assist and 10 digs.
• Etter added two assists and six digs to her 10 kills.

Gwynedd Mercy University takes the court again this Saturday, September 27, when they welcome Arcadia University (11:00 a.m.) and Ursinus College (3:00 p.m.) to the Griffins Complex for a tri-match.
