Galloway, N.J. - (4/15/2025) - The month of April has not been kind to Gwynedd Mercy University (10-19) as the team traveled to Stockton University (14-15), hoping to get back in the win column. The Red and Gold continued to struggle to find offense and are now 2-6 in April as the team fell to the Osprey 13-4. Freshman pitcher Connor Hafto (Washington Township, N.J.) started his fourth game of his career on the bump, pitching two innings, allowing two earned runs, two hits, a walk, and a strikeout in the loss (1-5).
Griffin Highlights:
- With the bases loaded in the top of the second and the bases loaded, junior outfielder Chris Nodeland (Hamilton, N.J.) worked a professional at bat and walked, cutting the lead in half 2-1.
- Freshman infielder Deven Ross's (Lansdale, Pa.) quickness allowed him to steal third in the fourth inning. A throwing error from the catcher and heads-up baserunning from Ross allowed him to score on the throwing error (2-7). Nodeland once again had an excellent approach at the dish, hitting a double to left field, scoring freshman catcher Gabe Tomei (Manahawkin, N.J.) giving Nodeland a team-high two runs-batted-in (RBI) in the contest (7-3).
- The final run for the Griffins came in the top of the ninth with an RBI sacrifice fly to right field from senior outfielder Cooper Root (Runnemede, N.J.) (13-4).
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action Thursday, April 17, when the team hosts Cairn University for a 3:30 p.m. scheduled first pitch.
