Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (3/4/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (3-4) spotted Muhlenberg College (4-2) a six-run head start in this afternoon's affair as the Mules progressed from scoring a run in the first inning (1-0), to scoring two in the second inning (3-0), and three runs in the third inning; 6-0. The Griffins began to rally with a run in the bottom of the third inning (6-1) and put the pressure on with two runs in both the sixth (7-4) and seventh (8-6) innings, but outs and daylight soon exhausted the Red and Gold efforts. Sam Junker (Ambler, Pa.) singled in his first three at-bats (3-for-4) and brought one of Gwynedd Mercy University's sixth-inning runs with a bases-loaded walk (7-3). Freshman
Dylan Ganey (Langhorne, Pa.) helped give the offense a chance by holding the Mules to two runs on six hits while striking out three in four innings (4.0) of relief.

- Senior left fielder Ricky Templeton (West Deptford, N.J.) singled down the left field line with one out and two on in the third inning; 6-1.
- After a lead-off triple, freshman second baseman Deven Ross (Lansdale, Pa.) platted sophomore shortstop Drew Haines (Hammonton, N.J.) with a grounder to short; 6-2.
- Muhlenberg College scored a run in the top of the sixth inning (7-2), but Gwynedd Mercy University gained one in the bottom of the frame with a bases-loaded walk to Junker (7-3) and a single through the right side from junior first baseman Jimmy DeCarlo (Ridley Park, Pa.); 7-4.
- The same scenario played out in the seventh inning as the Mules took an 8-4 lead before a bases-loaded balk (8-5) and a single to short brought the Red and Gold back within two runs; 8-6.
- Besides Junker, DeCarlo (2-for-5) and sophomore third baseman Ryan Horner (Cinnaminson, N.J.) (2-for-4) also recorded multiple hits in the contest.
Gwynedd Mercy University catches a flight tomorrow morning to Auburndale, Florida, as they begin their stay at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational with a 9:45 a.m. contest on Friday, March 7, opposite Fitchburg State College.
