Gwynedd Mercy Falls Behind in Duel with Drew University

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (2/26/2025) - Drew University (2-1) controlled possession early in the affair and used an opening 3-1 (10:47) rush to put Gwynedd Mercy University (1-3) behind the ball. The deficit grew to 9-3 (3:11) for halftime, 12-5 (1:46) by the end of the third quarter, and 17-6 (1:01) at game's end. Senior attack Dominic Romania (Phoenixville, Pa.) and junior attack Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) recorded three points apiece; the former complimented two goals and an assist with three ground balls, while the latter supported a goal and two assists with a ground ball. His brother, senior goalkeeper Jared Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) made 18 saves, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers in the loss (1-3).

Griffin Highlights
  • Gwynedd Mercy University totaled 38 shots; 26 of them came in the second half.
  • The Griffins won just 5-of-26 (.192) in the face-off circle, but cleared the ball at a 72.0% (5-of-21) rate. They were 0-of-4 on their man-up opportunities.
  • Junior attack Gunnar Seaman (Worcester, Pa.) and senior midfielder Ian Kish (Easton, Pa.) recorded a goal apiece and did well pressuring the Ranger defenders as they combined with five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to the Athletic Complex on Saturday, March 1, to host Arcadia University for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
