Dunn Dominates, Gifts Griffins Final Home Win In 2025

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (12/13/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University (3-6) set the tone early and never looked back as the Griffins defeated Penn State Harrisburg (2-9) 63-39 in the team's final home game before 2026. Junior forward Rachel Dunn (Lansdale, Pa.) played her best game since joining the red and gold, finishing with a game and career-high 14 points. Dunn also finished with career-highs in blocks (1) and steals (3) and grabbing seven boards with an assist added to her stat sheet.  

Griffin Highlights:  

  • Gwynedd Mercy jumped out to a 17–7 lead after the first quarter while holding the Lions to just 3-of-19 shooting. The defensive pressure intensified in the second quarter as the Griffins erupted for 31 points, their highest-scoring quarter of the season, and limited Penn State Harrisburg to just five points. Gwynedd Mercy went into halftime with a 48–12 advantage, fueled by transition buckets, strong interior play, and efficient ball movement. 
  • The Griffins showcased an impressive balance offensively, with five players scoring in double figures. Dunn led the way with 14 points, while senior forward Erin Eisenhart (Bethlehem, Pa.) recorded a double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and four steals. Sophomore guard Brianna McFadden (Fairless Hills, Pa.) matched Eisenhart with 13 points, knocking down three triples, and freshman guard Layla Verbit (Sellersville, Pa.) and junior forward Azzy Crumpton (Conshohocken, Pa.) chipped in five and six points, respectively.  
  • Defensively, Gwynedd Mercy forced 19 turnovers, converting them into 27 points, and held the Lions to just 26.7% shooting from the floor. The Griffins also dominated the glass, out-rebounding Penn State Harrisburg 47–44, including 18 offensive boards that generated consistent second-chance opportunities. 

Gwynedd Mercy University is back in action on Monday, December 15, when the team travels to Delaware Valley University for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
