Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/8/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (8-16, 3-4) finished their regular and Atlantic East Conference (AEC) season schedules in grand fashion as inspiration from a pair of career milestone for senior setter
Ayanna Gaston (Middletown, Pa.) propelled the Griffins for a 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-21) victory over Immaculata University (11-16, 4-3). Gaston became the Red and Gold's all-time leader in assists during a 25-6 first set and the all-time leader in aces early in a 25-21 third set; in between, Gwynedd Mercy University hit .208 (33K-13E-96TA) and worked toward their 10th match of double-digit aces this season. Charlotte Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa.) (17.0 points; 15 kills, 2 aces) and junior outside hitter
Kate Etter (Chambersburg, Pa.) (16.0; 13 kills, 2 aces, 2 block assists) both recorded double-digit points off Gaston's 29 assists.

Griffin Highlights
- Gwynedd Mercy University set the tone in the opening set, using a season's best .391 (11K-2E-23TA) hitting percentage to demoralize Immaculata University in a 25-6 end.
- In the second set, the Griffins pulled away late. Quality service from Etter and sophomore defensive specialist Marley Robbins (Medford, N.J.) propelled them from an 11-11 tie to a 25-14 victory.
- The Red and Gold made hay early in the third set, taking a 13-6 edge before holding off a late Mighty Mac rally in the 25-21 finish.
- Gaston stacked up 10 assists in the first frame and her 29 assists left her career total - and established the new program record - at 2,644 assists.
- Her record ace came on her second serve of the third set; it was her only ace of the match and she finished her collegiate career with 191 aces.
- Pugh added an assist and seven digs to her points, while Etter's points also came with seven digs.
- In addition to her assists and ace, Gaston provided two block assists and five digs.
- Sophomore libero Annalise Kuppel (Estell Manor, N.J.) scored and ace and totaled 10 digs.
