Brooklyn, N.Y. - (11/5/20205) - Gwynedd Mercy University (7-15, 2-4) continued a positive trend with tonight's 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-19) decision over Atlantic East Conference (AEC) rival, Pratt Institute (3-18, 0-6). The Griffins hit a season's best .269 (40K-15E-93TA) in the match and spotted 11 aces in the match; they were led by senior middle hitter Charlotte Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa.) and junior outside hitter Kate Etter (Chambersburg, Pa.) who combined for 30 kills, five aces, a couple block assists, and 13 digs. Senior setter Ayanna Gaston (Middletown, Del.) left her fingerprint on the victory with five kills, 31 assists, three aces, and five digs.

Griffin Highlights

• Gwynedd Mercy University rolled an 8-3 lead into a 25-23 win in the first set. In the second, it was Etter's mid-set service that separated the Griffins for a 18-12 edge in an eventual 25-20 conclusion. The third set felt decided early with the Red and Gold using a 12-4 lead to provide plenty of coverage in a 25-19 finale.
• Pugh led the Griffins with 17 kills, two aces, a block assist, and eight digs.
• Etter was equally effective with 13 kills, two assists, three aces, a block assist, and five digs.
