Red and Gold Travel To AEC Rival Pacers Looking For Much Needed Conference Victory

Scranton, Pa. - (10/22/2025) – After dropping the past Atlantic East Conference (AEC) matchups, Gwynedd Mercy University (7-8-1, 1-4) traveled to Marywood University (14-1-0, 5-0) looking to pick up a much-needed conference victory. Despite a strong defensive effort and several promising scoring chances, the Griffins came up short in a 2-0 road decision. Senior goalkeeper Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) started all 90 minutes in net for the red and gold, finishing with a save in the loss (4-3)

Griffin Highlights:

  • Sophomore midfielder Anna Nicosia (Columbus, N.J.) led Gwynedd Mercy with two shots on goal, while senior forward Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.) and junior defender Elena DiPrinzio (Warrington, Pa.) each added quality scoring opportunities that tested the Pacers' goalkeeper.
  • The Griffins generated consistent pressure in the second half, producing three shots and a pair of corner kicks while maintaining better possession in midfield play.
  • Ronn and the Griffin defense, featuring strong efforts from junior defender Jessica Parker (Philadelphia, Pa.), freshman defender Addyson Sparks (Philadelphia, Pa.), and junior midfielder Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.), kept Marywood off the board after halftime, showcasing the team's resilience and organization against one of the top offensive teams in the conference.

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to the Athletic Complex on Saturday, October 25, when the Griffins take on Immaculata University for a special Senior Day contest with a 3:00 p.m. kickoff time.
