Arlington, Va. - (10/11/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University (5-8, 1-2) showed grit and determination despite falling 3-0 to Marymount University (6-4-4, 2-0-1) on Saturday afternoon's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) showdown. The Griffins' defensive unit and goalkeepers stood tall against a relentless Saints attack, with senior goalkeeper Andrew Roberto (Churchville, Pa.) turning away ten shots in nearly 86 minutes of play (85:56)(4-2).
Griffin Highlights:
- Sophomore defenseman Dominic Lodise (Bensalem, Pa.) recorded the team's lone shot on goal. At the same time, junior midfielder Luke O'Donnell (Glenside, Pa), sophomore midfielder Gunnar Christensen (Finksburg, Md.), and sophomore defenseman Jack Barnett (Bensalem, Pa.) each added attempts as the Griffins looked to build offensive momentum late in the match.
- Senior defenseman Matt Edwards (Bensalem, Pa.), sophomore defenseman Dominic Lodise (Bensalem, Pa.), sophomore defender Andrew Leibig (Bensalem, Pa.), and sophomore midfielder Adam Leal (Jessup, Md.) anchored a disciplined back line that absorbed 43 total shots from Marymount.
- Freshman goalkeeper Ethan Zimmerman (Myerstown, Pa.) came on late to make an additional save in relief, giving the Griffins 11 total stops on the day.
