Eagan's Double-Double Not Enough To Dethrone Mighty Macs

Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (1/11/2025) - Gwynedd Mercy University (4-11, 0-2 AEC) welcomed Atlantic East Conference (AEC) top-ranked Immaculata University (13-3, 3-0 AEC) to the Griffin Complex for a Saturday Matinee. The Red and Gold held strong against the number one ranked offense in the contest as Gwynedd Mercy only trailed by four (30-26) going into halftime. A major factor came from the defensive side of the ball, as the Griffins held the Mighty Macs to just 10-of-30 (33%) from the field in the first 20 minutes. Immaculata came out of the half with an impressive 10-3 run in the third quarter and took control of the rest of the contest securing a 76-61 victory. Senior forward captain Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) finished with a double-double with a team-high 16 points (6-of-14, 43%), 11 rebounds, and two steals in the loss.
