Williamsport, Pa. - (9/15/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (1-4-1) traveled to Penn College (3-2-1) for a rare Sunday contest. With the Griffins only being able to register six shots while the Wildcats recorded 33, Gwynedd Mercy did not offer many scoring opportunities. Penn College scored the lone goal of the contest (55:29) causing the red and gold to suffer a 1-0 loss. Freshman goalkeeper Fionn Berton (Bordertown, N.J.) made his second consecutive start in net for Gwynedd Mercy and finished with a season-high nine saves in the loss (0-1-1).  

Griffin Highlights:  

• With the red and gold recording six shots only three made it on net. Three different Griffins recorded a shot on net including junior forward Braedon Kehan (Warrington, Pa.), sophomore midfielder Sam Hanley (East Longmeadow, Mass), and freshman forward Gunnar Christensen (Finksburg, Md.). The last shot on net for Gwynedd Mercy came in the first half at 37:23. 
• Gwynedd Mercy did not record a corner kick opportunity in the contest, while Penn registered eight. 

Gwynedd Mercy University travels to Delaware Valley University on Wednesday, September 18 for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
