Gwynedd Valley, Pa. (9/11/2024)- Gwynedd Mercy University (2-0-2) hosted Rosemont College (1-3) in a tight contest under the lights this evening.  After a quick first goal by Rosemont (4:57), the Griffins took advantage of their grit and tied the game with a goal from junior forward Natalie Morris (Boyertown, Pa.), assisted by senior forward captain Bethany Beinlich (Forksville, Pa.) (19:41).  The majority of the game was a defensive battle with yellow cards being awarded to both teams.  While the Ravens shot frequently, the Griffins utilized accuracy, scoring two goals on four shots on goal. 

Griffins Highlights:

• After the Griffins were awarded a penalty kick at 85:56, sophomore midfielder Bridget Cannon (Bensalem, Pa.) remained cool under pressure and scored the game-winning goal.
• Junior goalkeeper Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) started her first game of the 2024 season in net and notched her first win for the Red and Gold, tallying 12 saves as she played all 90:00 of the game. 

Gwynedd Mercy hopes to continue its winning ways as it next heads to Bryn Athyn on Friday, September 13 for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
