Hackettstown, N.J. - (4/13/2024) - Senior Jocelyn Baumeister (Willow Grove, Pa.) earned her fifth win of the season (5-3) and first by shutout fashion with a four strikeout performance in a 7-0, game-two final versus Atlantic East Conference (AEC) rival Centenary University (NJ) (18-5, 7-1). The victory earned Gwynedd Mercy University (9-14, 3-4) a split with the Cylcones as the home team won the first game of today's doubleheader by a 6-4 final. Baumeister (1-for-4) was one of four Griffins to record a hit in the opener and the only one to knock in a run. She knocked in three runs with a team-high three hits (3-for-3), while holding Centenary University to six hits and a walk in game two.

Griffin Highlights - Game One

• Centenary University mistakes allowed the Gwynedd Mercy University to score three unearned runs in the sixth inning, but they were not able to close the gap any further in the 6-4 final.
• In addition to Baumeister, senior third baseman Grace Scally (Philadelphia, Pa.) (1-for-4), senior designated player Ashley Focht (Harrisburg, Pa.) (1-for-3), and sophomore catcher Camryn Kinney (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) (1-for-3) were responsible for the other Griffin hits.
• Senior Ashley Haggerty (East Noriton, Pa.) allowed one hit and struck out two in 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Griffin Highlights - Game Two

• In addition to Baumeister's three-hit performance, junior left fielder Ally McDaid (Maple Glen, Pa.) (2-for-4), Scally (2-for-4), and Focht (2-for-4) recorded two hits apiece.
• Scally and junior first baseman Shannon McLaughlin (Haddon Heights, N.J.) were responsible for plating the other two Griffin runs; the former also scored twice.
• Baumeister continued her impressive pitching with her eighth straight start with one earned run or less.

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to Frank O. Genuardi Legends Softball Field on Tuesday, April 16, to host Penn State Abington for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
