Bryn Athyn, Pa. (3/6/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (0-4) continued to search for their first win of the season as the team traveled to Bryn Athyn College (2-1). With a lack of offensive opportunities for the Griffins, Gwynedd Mercy dropped to 0-4 to start the 2024 season after a 16- 4 defeat to the Lions. Both junior attacker Hailey Bloom (Margate City, N.J.) and midfielder Cheyenne Avellino (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) registered a pair of goals in the contest. Avellino finished with two points in the contest, while Bloom earned three as she assisted on Avellino's first goal that came in the first quarter (8:42).

Griffin Highlights: 

• Freshman goalkeeper Victoria Sloan (Philadelphia, Pa.) had a rough day in between the pipes as she finished with three saves on 19 shots (15%) in the loss (0-3). 
• The Lions outshot the Griffins 27-12 and had only one extra-man opportunity throughout the match.
• Bryn Athyn corralled 26 ground balls to Gwynedd's seven, while the Lions assisted on eight of their 16 goals. 

 
Gwynedd Mercy University continues to look for its first win in the 2024 season and will get its next opportunity on Monday, March 11, when the team hosts Eastern University for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
