Phoenixville, Pa. - (12/2/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (4-4) traveled to the University of Valley Forge (3-7) for a non-con bout. Gwynedd Mercy started the game 7-1 in the first quarter and won the quarter 15-6. After the first half, the Red and Gold led the Patriots 39-22 and secured a 74-44 victory. Sophomore guard Alyssa Cresto (Newark, Del.) finished with a team-high 15 points and a career-high five three pointers made (5-8, 63%). Cresto also recorded three assists and two steals.
Griffin Highlights:
- This was the fourth time in program history that Gwynedd Mercy and Valley Forge met. The Red and Gold kept their perfect streak alive against the Patriots as they are now 4-0 all time against the University of Valley Forge.
- Multiple Griffins finished with double digit points including forward captain Erin Eisenhart (Bethlehem, Pa.) (11) senior guard captain Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) (10) and sophomore guard Leah Harrington (Horsham, Pa.). This was both season-highs for both Eisenhart and Harrington.
- The Griffins were raining threes throughout the contest as the team finished with an impressive 44% from beyond the arc (12-27), including threes from Cresto (5), Eisenhart (1), Eagan (2), Harrington (2), freshman guard Peyton Attivo (Middletown, Pa.) (1), and freshman guard Brianna McFadden (Fairless Hills, Pa.) (1).
Gwynedd Mercy has a quick turnaround as the team plays tomorrow Saturday, December 7 when the Griffins host Amherst College for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff.
