Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (12/17/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (4-8) for the final time in 2024 hosted at the Griffin Complex welcoming Gallaudet University (4-8). After a rough first quarter, the Red and Gold heated up from beyond the arc as the team went 5-of-13 (38%) from three including threes from sophomore guard Alyssa Cresto (Newark, Del.) (8:24), sophomore guard Angelina Balcer (Philadelphia, Pa.) (5:11) and senior captain forward Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) (4:16, 2:58, 1:20) cut the lead to 46-41 in favor of the Bison. Unfortunately, Gwynedd Mercy was outscored by 19 points in the second half leading to an 84-60 defeat.  

Griffin Highlights:  

• Cresto and Eagan were the only members of the Griffins to score in double figures with the former tallying 13 points and the latter finishing with 12. Cresto recorded two rebounds, an assist, and two steals and Eagan recorded a double-double with ten rebounds and three steals. 
• Gwynedd Mercy struggled down low underneath the basket as Gallaudet outscored the Griffins 60-20 in the paint and finished with a 50-30 rebound advantage
• Freshman forward Frannie Boyle (Newtown, Pa.) was able to record her first collegiate career points in the final moments of the contest (2:51). 

Gwynedd Mercy is back in action on Friday, January 3 when the team takes on Nazareth University for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff.
