Immaculata, Pa. - (11/2/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (4-14 -2, 2-3 AEC) visited Immaculata University (10-8, 4-1 AEC) where both teams fought for a berth in the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Championship Tournament Finals. The Griffins and Mighty Macs were evenly matched throughout the contest but a goal in the second quarter (24:34) for Immaculata would be the lone goal scored ending the Red and Gold's 2024 season with a 1-0 defeat. Freshman goalkeeper Kelly Weaver (Flemington, N.J.) was stonewall in her first career collegiate playoff game finishing with four saves in the loss (1-8).  

Griffin Highlights:  

• Both teams were neck and neck throughout the contest as Immaculata tallied 13 shots to the Griffins 10, but Gwynedd Mercy registered ten corner opportunities compared to the Mighty Macs seven. 
• Junior forward Mackenzie Reed (Philadelphia, Pa.) was all over the field in the offensive end, as the junior finished with a team-high six shots with two of them being on goal but had no luck finding the back of the cage.  

Gwynedd Mercy finished the 2024 season with a 4-14 record and a 2-3 conference record.
