Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/16/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (2-2) played host to Delaware Valley University (1-2). These two teams met just last season, and the Aggies held onto a 65-50 victory. Today's contest was a fast-paced offensive outburst, as both teams were tied at 41 a piece going into the second half. This was a common theme throughout the match as both teams exchanged basket after basket all down the stretch. With just 2:20 left to go in the fourth quarter and the Griffins up 72-70, freshman guard Peyton Attivo (Middletown, Pa.) hit her first collegiate career three-pointer in the corner to give the Red and Gold a 75-70 lead over Delaware Valley and the eventual 80-74 victory.
Griffin Highlights:
- Gwynedd Mercy started the first quarter shooting 6-of-7 (86%) from the field including sophomore guard Alyssa Cresto (Newark, Del.) buried two early threes and a mid-range jump shot. Cresto would go on to finish with a team-high and career-high 17 points on 6-of-10 (60%) from the field and 5-of-9 (56%) from three-point land.
- Senior forward captain Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) recorded her third double-double of the season in just four games with 16 points and ten rebounds.
- Freshman guard Kailyn Bell (Ridley Park, Pa.) was the primary ball handler for the Griffins in the contest and distributed the rock at a high efficiency. Bell finished with a career-high seven assists to go along with ten points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
