Immaculata, Pa. - (10/23/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (3-13,1-3 AEC) traveled to Immaculata University (9-8, 3-1 AEC) for an Atlantic East Conference (AEC) showdown. The Griffins and Mighty Macs have played each other closely in the past two seasons. In the previous four contests, Immaculata outscored Gwynedd Mercy 5-4 with three of those contests going into either overtime or a shootout. In today's contest, the Mighty Macs defeated the Griffins 3-0. Freshman goalkeeper Kelly Weaver (Flemington, N.J.) started her seventh game in net for the Red and Gold in her freshman campaign and finished with five saves in the loss (0-7). 

Griffin Highlights:  

• Gwynedd Mercy registered four shots in the contest including shots from junior midfielder Emma Dodd (Philadelphia, Pa.), senior defenseman Laura Filchner (Bath, Pa.), sophomore forward Keleigh Clausius (Landenberg, Pa.), and freshman midfielder Allyssa Seifert (Philadelphia, Pa.).  

• Gwynedd Mercy's best chest in the contest game was in the third corner when the Red and Gold recorded one of their three corner opportunities at 33:59. Clausius received the corner from Filchner and put in a good shot on net but was unfortunately saved.  

Gwynedd Mercy returns to Atlantic East Conference play on Saturday, October 26 when the Griffins travel to Marywood University for a 12:00 p.m. faceoff.
