Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (10/12/2024) - Gwynedd Mercy University (11-7, 0-1) was only able to score in the third set, 25-18, of this afternoon's 3-1 (25-20, 25-15, 18-25, 25-19) Atlantic East Conference (AEC) loss to Neumann University as the Knights used opening wins of 25-20 and 25-15 to get the early edge on the Griffins. Fifth-year outside hitter Bria Purnell (Reading, Pa.) totaled 13 kills, four aces, and a pair of block assists in an 18-point performance. Junior setter Ayanna Gaston (Middletown, Del.) offered 26 assists and three aces.

• Gwynedd Mercy University had trouble finding their stride this afternoon as the only managed a .065 (33K-24E-138TA) hitting percentage.
• They hit their best in the third set, earning their point with a .229 (11K-3E-35TA) success rate.
• Purnell (4) and Gaston (3) were responsible for the Griffins' seven aces. They both also record double-digit digs; Purnell recorded 13 and Gaston made 10.
• Sophomore outside hitter Kate Etter (Chambersburg, Pa.) (14 digs) and junior middle hitter Charlotte Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa.) (12) also joined in the effort.
