true Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (9/16/2023) - Sophomore forward
Braedon Kehan (Warrington, Pa.) scored a settled loose ball from junior midfielder
Kasey Wallace (Audubon, N.J.) in the 58th minute (1-0, 57:19) to give Gwynedd Mercy University (0-3-1) a lead over Bryn Athyn College (0-3-1). The Griffins kept the pressure on the Lions - outshooting them 21-10 and owning a 9-1 corner-kick advantage - but with just 23 seconds remaining a Lion tally tied the contest and kept both teams winless in 2023.
Griffin Highlights
- Gwynedd Mercy University possessed the ball for a majority of the affair and built on a 7-4 first-half shooting advantage with a more aggressive second half.
- The Griffins pressured the Lions around the 50-minute mark, but the goal came a little later as a loose serve in the offensive end ended with a rocket off Kehan's right foot.
- There were only 10 fouls in the contest with each team making five apiece. Otherwise, Gwynedd Mercy University dominated the box score with a 21-10 edge in shots and a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
- Graduate John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) and freshman Kevin Kretschman (Glenside, Pa.) (0-3-1) split the 90:00; both made a save and the latter earned the tie.
