Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (9/13/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (0-3) welcomed Albright College (4-0) to the Athletic Complex on Wednesday afternoon. A match that for much of the night was in a stalemate until the 55:17 mark when Albright College found the black of the net and would be the only goal scored the entire contest allowing Albright to leave Gwynedd Mercy with a 1-0 narrow victory. Freshman defenseman Andre Medl (Warrington, Pa.) nearly gave the Griffins a lead early in the first half when his header just went off the crossbar, this was one out of his career-high four shots on goal. 
 
Griffin Highlights: 

• Both teams had their moments in the offensive zones with quality chances for both teams. The Lions, however, did lead the shot category 16-12. 
• Sophomore midfielder C.J. Clyde (Southampton, Pa.) finished the contest second on the team with two shots. 
• Freshman Goalkeeper Kevin Kretschman (Glenside, Pa.) played all 90 minutes for the Griffins. He finished the game with a career-high five saves in his young collegiate career in the loss (0-2).

Gwynedd Mercy still looks to find their first victory of the young season when they play host to Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, September 16, for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff.
