Griffin Highlights
Game 1
- Focht was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Sophomore catcher Kaylee Colantano (Clinton, N.J.) was 2-for-2 with a run, a walk, and a run-batted-in (RBI). Maw was 1-for-2 with a run and two RBI; she knocked in a pair with a single to left during the Griffins' six-run fifth inning.
- The big inning started with a an error and picked up steam with a one-out Focht single, a two-out walk to senior center fielder Emma Carney (Plymouth, Meeting, Pa.), a bases -loaded walk to Baumeister, a wild pitch, and singles from Maw, Colantano, and freshman shortstop Hannah Smith (Levittown, Pa.).
- Baumeister held the Mighty Macs to five runs on a dozen (12) hits and four walks. She struck out four.
Game 2
- An error, singles from McDaid and Focht, and and a pair of fielder's choices produced a run in the first inning.
- In the second a second McDaid single scored a pair of runs to make give the Griffins a 3-2 lead.
- After the consecutive singles, Maw's crack to left field plated two more Gwynedd Mercy University runs in the third inning; 5-2.
- McDaid was 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBI, and a stolen base. Baumeister was 2-for-3 and Maw was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
- Focht held the Mighty Macs to two runs on seven hits and three walks.
Gwynedd Mercy University briefly breaks from AEC play to visit Widener University for a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday, April 12.
