Collegeville, PA - (3/21/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (10-4) played its fourth game in two days this time traveling up to Ursinus College (12-6) to take on the Bears. Ursinus College was too much for the Griffins to handle as they won both games today 4-2 (game one) and 6-5 (game two). In game one, junior captain pitcher Ashely Focht (Harrisburg, Pa.) got the nod in game one going six innings giving up four earned runs on 11 hits and walking one. Focht earned her second loss of the season (5-2). In game two, junior pitcher Jocelyn Baumeister (Willow Grove, Pa.) went 2-3 from the plate with a team-high two runs batted in (RBI). She also got the start pitching six innings giving up five earned runs on ten hits and two strikeouts.
