Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (10/4/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (1-5-4, 0-2) played host to Cabrini University (4-5-2, 1-0) in their second conference game of the 2023 season. At the 25:17 mark. Sophmore forward
Bradedon Kehan (Warrington, Pa.) had a beautiful corner kick that allowed junior midfielder
Kasey Wallace (Audubon, N.J.) to head in his team-leading fourth goal of the season. However, Cabrini would go on to score two unanswered goals and allow them to walk away with a 2-0 victory.
Griffin Highlights:
- Gwynedd Mercy came into the game without their vocal leader on the defense junior defenseman Victor Cruz (New Castle, Del.). The Griffins did an excellent job keeping the shot-on-net total to a minimum as the Cavaliers did however win the shot-on-goal battle 11-5.
- Sophomore midfielder C.J. Clyde (Southampton, Pa.) had a team-high two shots on goal while Wallace, Kehan, and freshman defenseman Axel Mayren (Atlantic City, N.J.) all recorded one on net.
- Graduate goalkeeper captain John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) started all 90 minutes in net for the Griffins as he finished with nine saves in the loss (1-3-2)
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to non-conference play Saturday, October 7, when they take on Penn State Berks for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
