Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (10/11/2023) - Gwynedd Mercy University (6-3-3, 0-0-2) played their second Atlantic East Conference (AEC) match of the 2023 season this time taking on Marymount University (2-8-4, 1-1-1). Nearing the end of the first half, a foul in the box from the Saints allowed freshman midfielder Bridget Cannon (Bensalem, Pa.) her first-ever penalty kick attempt. Cannon was successful with a beautiful shot past the Saints' goalkeeper that gave the Griffins an early 1-0 lead (35:21). Unfortunately, Marymount University found an answer in the 84th-minute (83:51) to end the league contest in a 1-1 stalemate. 
 
Griffin Highlights:
· Sophomore goalkeeper Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) (1-3-3) once again was brilliant for the Griffins. She started and played all 90 minutes of the match, finishing with 13 saves.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University continues their AEC season on Saturday, October 14, when they host Immaculata University for a 12:00 p.m. Senior Day contest.
