Gwynedd Valley Pa. - Gwynedd Mercy University (8-8, 1-2) looked to get back into the win column as they played host to Marywood University (11-4, 1-2) in the "Play for Joey" game. The Griffins found their offensive groove all game which was led by senior guard
Elise Slyvester (Pottstown, Pa.) who finished 8-19 from the field and matched her career-high with 22 points. Sylvester also finished with eight rebounds and four assists. Gwynedd Mercy scored the first two points with a layup by junior guard
Lynzie Eggers (Turnersville, N.J.) and the Griffins never looked back as they walked away with a 74-56 victory.
Griffins Highlights:
- Senior forward Haley Crossely (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished with a team-high 12 rebounds. Crossley also went 7-12 from the field with 15 points, two blocks, two steals, and a team-high five assists.
- Eggers finished the game with 17 points and a team-high three steals.
- The Griffins dominated in the pain scoring 40 points while the Pacers only had 28.
- Gwynedd Mercy held Marywood University to only 26-79 (33%) from the floor and 2-23 (8.7%) from beyond the arc.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to conference play Wednesday, January 18th, when they travel to Neumann University for a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
