Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Gwynedd Mercy University (0-7) concluded their stay at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic with a pair of run-shortened games versus Cedar Crest College (3-4) (L, 4-13 (6) on Mar. 9) and Madonna University (8-1) (L, 0-13 (5) on Mar. 9) and a near victory versus Eastern Mennonite University (L, 5-9 on Mar. 11). Junior center fielder Emma Carney (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) was the only Griffin to record multiple hits (2-for-3) against the Falcons and she scored three of Gwynedd Mercy University's four runs. Against the Lions, sophomore second baseman Shylynn Cordero (Allentown, Pa.) (2-for-3, BB, R) and freshman left fielder Carly Maw ((Bensalem, Pa.) (2-for-3, RBI) recorded two hits apiece; the latter knocked in one of four Griffins' third-inning runs with a two-out single to right field; 4-3. Unfortunately, six late Eastern Mennonite University (8-0) runs propelled the Lions to their eventual 9-5 victory.

Cordero (3-for-6, 2 R, BB, 2B), Carney (3-for-7, 4 R, RBI, 2 2B), and Focht (3-for-8, R, 2 RBI) each recorded three hits in the three-game span.

Gwynedd Mercy University returns home to continue their non-conference schedule with a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader at Swarthmore College on Tuesday, March 15.
