Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (11/11/22) - The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Basketball Team took down Delaware Valley 80-63 in the first game of the Annual Tip Off Tournament.
Griffin Highlights:
- Junior guard Lynzie Eggers (Turnersville, N.J.) led the Griffs with 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists, a block, and three steals.
- Senior guard Elise Sylvester (Pottstown, Pa.) was a factor as well with 17 points, a rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
- Senior forward Haley Crossley (Philadelphia, Pa.) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. She also offered two assists, a block, and a steal.
- Junior Natalie O'Neill (Philadelphia, Pa.) dominated the glass with 18 rebounds. She also recorded seven points and an assist.
- The Griffs came out strong, outscoring the Aggies by double the points in the first quarter and continued to grow the lead throughout the second quarter.
- Delaware Valley turned up the heat after half time, winning the third quarter by 4 points, but Gwynedd Mercy never gave up their dominant lead.
The Griffs will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, November 11, when they take on the winner of tonight's contest of University of Scranton vs William Paterson University on in a 2:00 p.m. championship.
