Gwynedd Valley, PA - (11/12/22) - The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Basketball Team fell to the University of Scranton 70-56 in the Championship game of the Annual Tip Off Tournament.

Griffin Highlights:

• * Senior Elise Sylvester dominated offensively leading both teams in points (22) and assists (5). She was recognized as the Griffins' all-tournament team representative.  
• * Junior Natalie O'Neill led her team in rebounds again with 11 on the day.
• * Senior Haley Crossley contributed evenly on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court with 17 points and 8 rebounds
• * Both teams came out strong with the Royals only having a one point advantage at the end of the first quarter and the Griffins tied it up 29-29 going in to half time.
• * At the end of the third quarter the score was knotted up 44-44, but the University of Scranton outscored Gwynedd Mercy two to one in the fourth to take the win. 

The Griffs will be back in action on Tuesday night, November 15th, when they take on Arcadia University at 6pm for the Annual Battle of 309.
