Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – Gwynedd Mercy University (1-11-1) (0-1) welcomed Marymount University (6-5) (1-0) for the Griffins' first taste of Atlantic East Conference (AEC) play. The Saints took an early 1-0 lead just 1:27 seconds into the first half and never looked back. Marymount University finished the game with a 31 to six shot advantage over Gwynedd Mercy University allowing the Saints to walk away with a 6-0 victory.
 
The Griffins came out in the second half looking to make a statement. At the 61:33-mark junior defenseman, Mike Fienman (Philadelphia, Pa.) took a shot from 20 yards out that just missed the mark and grazed the crossbar. Graduate defenseman Ray Ricci (Telford, Pa.) also recorded a shot on goal with just under four minutes left to go in the game, but was unable to capitalize.
 
Fienman finished with a team-high two shots and sophomore goalkeeper Shaine Kirby (Newtown, Pa.) finished the game with eight saves and the loss. (1-4-1)
 
The Griffins continue conference play when they welcome Immaculata University for Senior Day on Saturday, October 8, for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
