Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (10/15/2022) - Gwynedd Mercy University (2-10-3, 0-4) welcomed Neumann University (6-7-2, 3-1) to campus for today's Atlantic East Conference (AEC) and Senior Day contest. Following a pregame ceremony honoring the collegiate careers of seniors; goalkeeper/defender Molly Fleming (Warminster, Pa.), defender Claudia Krouse (Southampton, Pa.), and senior midfielder Kelsey Breisch (Schwenksville, Pa.), the Knights used goals at 38:54, 52:25, 56:04, and 65:16 to defeat the Griffins by a 4-0 final. Freshman forward Bethany Beinlich (Forksville, Pa.) took four of eight Gwynedd Mercy University shots, while freshman goalkeeper Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) (1-7-2) made nine saves in the opening 67 minutes (66:48).
 

Gwynedd Mercy University did their best to keep the pressure off Ronn early, but the defense broke down late in the 39th minute (1-0, 38:54). Neumann University used their 30-8 shot advantage and 6-0 edge in corner kicks to put their weight on the Griffins in the second half. The result was three more scores, coming in the 53rd (52:25), 57th (56:04), and 66th (65:16) minutes.

In addition to Beinlich, graduate defender Megan Crammer (Riverside, N.J.) and Breisch put shots on goal. Freshman defender/goalkeeper Natalie Gablein (Philadelphia, Pa.) (23:12) totaled two saves in relief of Ronn.

Gwynedd Mercy University continues their AEC schedule on Wednesday, October 19, when they visit Centenary University (N.J.) for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
