ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – The Gwynedd Mercy women's soccer team fell to the Eastern University Eagles 9-1 Tuesday afternoon.
After the Eagles put 6 goals in the back of the net in the first half, Nicolette Conway delivered one for the Griffins in the beginning of the second half. Of the 3 team shots on goal, Gwynedd made the most of their slim opportunities. Eastern went on to score 3 more goals to seal their 9-1 victory.
Molly Flemming made a season and career high 22 saves in the loss after facing 45 shots from the Eagles.
The women's soccer team is back in action Saturday, October 2 in Rosemont, PA to take on Rosemont College at 3:00 p.m.
