GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Men's Basketball Team took down visiting Immaculata, 87-64, on Senior Night as the Griffins closed out their abbreviated season Thursday evening.

Prior to the game, the coaching staff and team honored the five seniors along with their family members in playing in their final game: Donaven Spencer, Jordan Perkins, Jaye'Lyn Peebles, and Justin Collins

Perkins was 12-of-17 from the floor en route to a career and game-high 30 point night. Manny Clark kicked 12 while Spencer, Peebles and David West each added 11. The team outrebounded IU, 54-45, with three players grabbing nine boards apiece (Collins, Spencer, and Clark). For West (points) and Clark (rebounds), both notched career highs in those respective categories.

Asa Kitchen was one of four players in double digits for the Mighty Macs, totaling a team-high 14. Tim Schultice added 10 points and 13 caroms for a double-double.

The Griffins used a 10-0 run early in the first to help open up a double-figure lead, with Perkins scoring eight of those 10 points in that stretch. GMercyU rode a 43-28 advantage into the half.

An 11-0 spurt to open the second stanza was part of a 47% shooting clip by the team in that half. It was more than enough as Gwynedd kept control the rest of the way.

The senior foursome enjoyed a conference championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2019 and a memorable run last season to capture the 2020 ECAC Division III Championship here at home for a four-year record of 65-22.
