Radnor, Pa. - (10/23/2021) - Today's Atlantic East Conference contest brought Gwynedd Mercy University (5-12, 3-1) to Radnor, Pennsylvania, for an afternoon affair with Cabrini University (9-6, 4-0). The Griffins took a 1-0 advantage at 26:28, when junior defender Alexis Schambers (West Chester, Pa.) found senior attack Lauren Jani (Coopersburg, Pa.) for her sixth goal of the season. Gwynedd Mercy University took their 1-0 lead to intermission, but afterwards the Cavaliers' shooting advantage took its toll as Cabrini University goals at 35:17 and 45:10 sent the home team to a 2-1 victory.

Cabrini University held a 16-6 shot advantage and a 9-7 edge on penalty corners. Jani record three of the Griffins' six shots; Schambers had two of the other half. Freshman goalkeeper Morgan Lawless (Bristol, Pa.) (5-12) totaled three saves in defeat.

Gwynedd Mercy University concludes their 2021 regular season schedule on Tuesday, October 26, when they visit Kean University for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
