Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (10/16/2021) -  Gwynedd Mercy University (1-14, 0-5 AEC) fell to Marywood University (2-8-1,  1-2-0 AEC) by a  4-1 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) decision in Saturday afternoon's Senior Day affair.

The Pacers opened up the scoring early, capitalizing on a free kick at just past the 14-minute mark; 1-0 (14:07). Fortunately, the Griffins answered quickly, as senior forward Tyler Bascone (Wenonah, N.J.) found sophomore Badr Fask (Bristol, Pa.) with a beautiful cross-field feed that gave Gwynedd Mercy University fastbreak on the Marywood University goal. Fask completed the play for his first collegiate goal (1-1, 22:31), while Bascone's assist was his first since 2018. Still, Marywood University sunk one more goal before halftime (2-1, 32:46) and two more in the second half (71:26, 81:33) to defeat the Griffins by a three-goal margin; 4-1. 
 
Gwynedd Mercy University totaled four shots in all with Fask (22:31) and Bascone (15:11) each accounting for one. The other two came courtesy of senior forward Hugh Lynch (Philadelphia, Pa.) (33:50) and junior midfielder Gavin Greenley (Philadelphia, Pa.) (55:09). Junior goalkeeper John Wagner (Phoenixville, Pa.) (0-10) was a true team player  and left it all on the field today with 4 saves in the loss.
