GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy downed Albright, 84-62, Friday morning in an ECAC Men's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinal here at The Griffin Complex in the first of four games on the day.
The Griffins now advance to the semifinal round, where they'll take on Baruch, who were 81-77 winners over New Jersey City in the second quarterfinal.
Both teams shot over 44% in the first half with the Griffins holding a seven-point lead at the break. Gwynedd limited the Lions to just a 30% effort from the field and used a 25-13 run to close the contest.
Rich Dunham netted a game-high 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting while adding six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Nathaniel Walker kicked in 15 and
Jordan Perkins contributed 10 off the bench.
GMercyU dominated the glass, outrebounding Albright, 51-27 for their largest margin of the season.
Donaven Spencer finished in double-digit boards with 10. Dunham, Walker, and Soman Slewion all added six.
Isiah Harris led Albright with 19 points. The Lions got it to 59-50 with 7:55 in the second, but the Griffins ran off six-straight points to help keep a double figure lead the rest of the way.
