DOYLESTOWN, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy fell at Delaware Valley on Wednesday afternoon, 16-7.
Jacob Dzierzgowski led the Griffins with three goals with
Ryan Gartenmayer adding a pair.
Derek Alcavage and
Luke Xanthopoulos also scored.
The Griffins came out firing in the first quarter, putting together 17 shots but found themselves down 4-2 after the first 15 minutes as Del Val goalie Nic Brown frustrated GMercyU with 11 saves in the stanza.
Delaware Valley outscored Gwynedd, 6-1, in the second quarter to build a seven-goal lead at the half.
P.J. Rafferty paced the Aggies with 10 points on four goals and six assists. Teammate Dylan Brasch added four tallies and three helpers.
In the faceoff,
Joey Giordano won 12-of-18 in the circle, collecting a team-high six groundballs.
The goalie tandem of
Chase McFeeley and
Aubron Swartley each played a half, and combined to make six saves. Brown totaled 17 stops for the Aggies.
Gwynedd Mercy resumes action next Saturday when they return home to face Albright starting at 1 p.m.
