RADNOR, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy had their four-game win streak snapped in a 104-77 Atlantic East Conference defeat at Cabrini on Wednesday.
Tolu Omole scored a career high 13 points to lead the Griffins, connecting on another career best four three pointers.
Kelly Owens also stayed hot with 12 to score in double digits for her third-straight game.
The trio of
Haley Crossley,
Jill Kane and
Tamia Wessels added nine points apiece while
Chyanne Fine led GMercyU on the glass with nine rebounds and kicked in six points.
For Cabrini, Lexi Edwards netted a game-high 22 points to lead six player in double digits.
The Cavaliers used a 14-3 run to close the first quarter to break a tie game and lead 29-18. Owens' bucket pulled the Griffins 39-35 with 2:24 to go before the half, but again, Cabrini closed out the stanza on a 12-2 stretch and took a 51-37 edge into the lockerroom. They would hold a double-figure lead the rest of the way.
The Griffins shot 24.7% (22-of-89), connecting on 12 three pointers and 21 free throws. Cabrini shot 47.4% (37-78) from the field while making 26 free throws.
Gwynedd returns back to action this weekend hosting defending Atlantic East Conference Champions Marymount at 1 p.m. here at The Griffin Complex.
