CHESTER, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy scored a late tally but Widener was able to hold off the Griffins in a 2-1 decision on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, the Pride's Nick Brison broke the deadlock with the first of his two goals, this one coming in the 50th minute. Brison made it 2-0 10 minutes later when he put one in off a flurry of shots in the box.
GMercyU was able to cut the lead in half when
Kevin Bowers netted his first goal of the season off an assist from
Gavin Greenley with just over 25 minutes to play. However, the Griffins were unable to get a shot on goal the rest of the way.

Tyler Blair recorded six saves in net for Gwynedd Mercy.
The team travels to Cairn on Wednesday for another non-conference matchup.
