GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy lost both games of an Atlantic East Doubleheader to Neumann on Saturday at home. The Knights took the first game, 11-0, and the nightcap, 13-1.
Game one
The Griffins were limited to five hits but were guilty of six errors that led to five unearned runs.
Neumann's Jen Sieminski fanned six and did not allow a walk to keep GMercyU's bats quiet.
The Knights plated three runs in their first at-bat and would later open up the contest with a seven-run frame in the fourth.
Amanda Clark had one of the five hits, a double in the fourth.
Alexis Gartner took the loss in the circle.
Game two
Tori Sherwood was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, but it wasn't enough to keep Gwynedd afloat. Sherwood scored on a sac fly in the fourth off the bat of
Kaylee Craig.
Grace Sperrazza went 2-for-4 with four RBIs including a three-run home run as part of a five-run third.
Starter
Brianna Polly suffered the loss as Gwynedd now has won just once in their last eight games.
The squad will look to turn things around on Thursday as they make the short trip up to Doylestown to face Delaware Valley in non-conference action.
