RADNOR, PA. -- In their Atlantic East Conference opener, Gwynedd Mercy was on the wrong end of a 21-9 decision at Cabrini on a rainy Thursday.
Ashley Tutzauer led all scorers with seven goals to lead the Cavaliers.
Victoria Mollitor netted four tallies for the Griffins.
GMercyU erased an early 2-0 deficit with three-straight goals from Mollitor but Cabrini went on a 7-1 spurt to take a 9-4 advantage at the midway point of the period.
Jill Kane's goal with 14 minutes before the half was the last score for Gwynedd in the stanza as the Tutzauer netted four of the team's eight goals to give them a 17-5 lead at the break.
Victoria Braeunle added three goals for the Griffins. Mollitor recorded five draws while she and Kane each had three groundballs.

Gwynedd Mercy resumes action on Wednesday when they play at Bryn Mawr.
