HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. -- Gwynedd Mercy swept a doubleheader at Centenary on Monday, taking game one, 14-7, and a shortened game two, 7-4.
Game one
Amanda Clark had the hot hand, driving in a career-high six runs, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored including a three-run homerun.
Emma Clark also added three hits while
Rebecca Christoffers and
Lauren Waller each scored three runs.
The Griffins totaled 17 hits, scoring runs in all but two innings. Tied at 1-1 heading into the third, Clark's RBI single and a two-run double from
Nicole Floyd would put GMercyU ahead for good.
Emma Clark picked up the win in the circle, her first on the year.
Game two
It was Clark again that helped pace the offense, driving in three runs. Waller was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple, while scoring twice and knocking in a pair of RBIs.
Gwynedd built a 7-0 lead after three innings and after yielding four runs in the fourth, the game was called after the fifth.
Alexis Gartner struck out four while giving up three earned runs on eight hits and no walks to notch her first pitching victory of the season.
The team is off until next Tuesday, March 26th when they play at Penn State-Harrisburg.
