LAPLUME, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy picked up a win in their final game before the holiday break, leading from start to finish in a 94-80 victory at Keystone on Thursday.
Denise Sacco had the hot hand, scoring a career-high 23 points while
Sydney Thompson added her first career double-double, totaling 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Elise Sylvester kicked in a season-high 17 points and
Tamia Wessels registering 10.
Keystone's Bella Lamonea paced all scorers with a game-high 32 points. Teammate Mac Oribello finished with 29 but the Giants committed 33 turnovers, which led to 33 Griffin points.
GMercyU led by 10 after the first quarter and upped their advantage to as much as 16 in the second before going into the half up 42-30. Gwynedd was in control the rest of the way getting their lead to as high as 20 (77-57) after a three from Wessels with six minutes to play in the fourth.
The team hit for 11 three-pointers with Sacco making three. Wessels,
Marissa Sandone, and
Jill Kane each knocked down two.
The Griffins resume action in the New Year on Wednesday, January 8th when they visit Penn State-Harrisburg.
