GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Women's Soccer team fell in their Atlantic East Conference opener to Wesley College, 1-0, on Wednesday evening.
The Wolverines capitalized on an early first half goal in the 13th minute when Jaimi Snyder found the back of the net. Wesley outshot the Griffins, 11-5, in the first half to hold the margin.
GMercyU would respond the second half holding a shot and corner kick advantage but unable to find the equalizer. The Griffins had their chances in the closing moments but
Wesley goalie Kiyanna Gill would make nine saves on the night for the clean sheet.
Daniella Repkoe recorded eight saves for the home team.
The Griffins return back to action on Saturday when they host Marymount in an AEC matchup at 12 p.m.
