MEDIA, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy put together 18 shots but was held without a goal in a tough 1-0 defeat at Penn State-Brandywine on Saturday afternoon.

The Griffins had 12 of their shots in the first half as the team put up the second-most amount of the season.

Brandywine's Brianna Banks netted the game's lone goal in the 28th minute for the Lions. Emily Bush frustrated Gwynedd as the goalie recorded 13 saves on the day.

GMercyU keeper Emily McCullough notched six saves as she and the defense weathered through 17 Penn State attempts.

The team will host Wesley on Wednesday evening in the Atlantic East Conference opener for both teams with a first kick at 7 p.m.
