GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy University Men's Soccer team picked up a crucial 1-0 Atlantic East Conference victory over Marywood University on Wednesday evening in a rain soaked contest.

Mike Czajka would net the eventual game winning when he buried a bouncing ball in the box in the upper ninety of the goal cage in the 47th minute. The goal was his second on the year.

Keeper Tyler Blair recorded seven saves on the evening for his second clean sheet this season and third in his career.

Marywood would force pressure late in the second half but Blair would knock two shots over the cage and the Griffin defense held firm keeping both corner kicks out of the box.

The Pacers outshot GMercyU, 9-4, and held a 5-3 corner advantage. Marywood goalie Mike Gallagher ended the night with two saves.

The Griffins look to continue their momentum when they welcome Neumann at 12 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
